Charitable Works Fund Appeal
Next Sunday, 26th September, the Archdiocese of Sydney asks for your participation in supporting the CWF Parish Appeal. Archbishop Anthony Fisher OP stresses the importance of your participation in this appeal, as he says: “100 years ago, when the world was struggling with the Spanish Flu, Christians offered their aid and resources to house and heal the sick, providing food, nursing, and companionship to those affected. Sadly, our current COVID-19 pandemic has not only killed millions, made others sick, and brought so much of ordinary life to a halt: it has also left many feeling isolated, lonely, abandoned, and despairing. Now, more than ever, our community needs the Gospel message of love and its fruits in ministries of mercy.”
Therefore, I invite you and all parishioners to join hands together amid this pandemic. Let us support ministries in our archdiocese in their efforts to relieve the suffering of our brothers and sisters who are less fortunate. May God, the source of all blessings, reward your good works!
Congratulation to Grace Davar!
The Archbishop of Sydney, the Most Reverend Anthony Fisher OP, has conferred the Student Excellence award upon Grace Anne Davar, a daughter of Deanne and Noel Davar, our parishioners. Currently, Grace is a student at Rosebank College, Five Dock. For your information, this award is a prestigious reward given by the archbishop to few talented and dedicated students after passing strict screenings and nominations from their teachers and school staff.
This achievement is great news not only for the Davar’s family but also for our Parish. Grace is an altar server at the Vigil Mass, alongside her two siblings, Ryley and Caitlin. Her father, mother, and brother (Luke) are also actively involved in our Parish as musicians and choir members. Therefore, our Parish is truly blessed to have Grace and her family. Grace, congratulations again on your achievement; never get tired of being a good example and a true proclaimer of Christ in your life! – Fr Pio.
