Our churches will be open soon, becoming a volunteer, and Sacrament of Confirmation in November

Our churches will be open soon!

We should be grateful that our state has almost reached the 80% full vaccination threshold. When this article was written, 78.8% of people had already received two doses of the vaccination. So, it seems that we will be able to reach the 80 % figure on Sunday. When we have achieved this target, our churches will reopen to the public on Monday, 18 October 2021. We can’t wait for this to happen!

However, even though our churches will reopen to the public, we must not neglect to comply with health protocols. We still need to wear masks indoor, use a hand sanitiser, register via QR code from the NSW app, and maintain a safe distance (4m2 rule). To see the most recent updates on this, please visit the Parish website regularly: www.stfiacreparish.com.

Becoming a volunteer

In line with the reopening of our churches to the public, I would like to invite you to start a “new era” in our Parish life. We want to be a missionary Church where Jesus Christ is at the centre of our evangelisation activities. This ideal will be the primary foundation for forming the family of God and the transformation of life for many souls in the future.

To achieve this big goal, I invite all of you to work together as a team. It is impossible to do this task alone. Currently, our Parish needs volunteers who are willing to serve God, the Church, and others. If you feel the call, please let us know by registering yourself via the Parish website www.stfiacreparish.com and filling in your details in the “Becoming A Volunteer” section. Thank you very much for your support. Our Lord, Jesus Christ, will surely repay you many times over.

Sacrament of Confirmation in November

Our Parish will celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation for children on 15-16 November. An email from the Parish containing important information has been sent to all the candidates and their parents. If you do not receive this email, please contact the Parish Office ASAP via email at fiacre@capuchinfriars.org.au or call 0478 777 498. Would you please bring our confirmands and their parents in your prayers too? Many thanks for your spiritual support.

That’s all for this week. May God bless you and enjoy the moment of grace given by God – of course, in safe ways. – Fr Pio.
