Welcome to Our New Parish Priest in Leichhardt
As announced last week, Fr Severino Bustamante is our new Parish Priest at St Fiacre’s, Leichhardt. He had served our Parish seven years ago. Welcome back, Fr Severino; nice to have you here! Fr Severino will replace me effectively from 5th December 2021. Therefore, please get in touch with him directly for all matters relating to the Parish.
Also, I would like to take this opportunity to say thanks to all of you. I genuinely apologise if there is something wrong with my words and actions while serving you as a parish priest. And finally, I ask for your prayers to carry out the new task entrusted to me by the Capuchin Order as a provincial secretary in Indonesia. If there is no obstacle, I will return to Pontianak (West Borneo) on 15th December 2021.
I want to express my deepest gratitude to the Capuchin Friars in Australia who have received and supported me so well. The experience of nine years in Australia has created beautiful memories that I will treasure for the rest of my life. Once again, thank you so much! Finally, let us strengthen each other so that our lives and ministries can be a blessing to the Church and others.
We Start Advent this Sunday
Starting this Sunday, we will enter the Season of Advent. The word Advent comes from Latin’s word adventus, which means the arrival or approach. In Advent, we know that the Son of God is coming into the world to live with us.
Related to that, I invite you all to prepare yourselves to welcome Jesus Christ, Our Lord, in the Christmas celebration. We hope that Christmas this year will be a great festive and filled with blessings from the Lord. Pax et Bonum. – Fr Pio.
